I feel like the garage has been a never-ending project
When we lived in Brooklyn, we didn’t have a garage. There was a shelf in one of our many closets that housed all our tools.
When we moved to Long Island the garage was gross.
To be honest, the whole house was gross. We redid that whole house. We had to.. Maybe that will be another story.
We redid the whole house... and then we moved!
So… we redid it. We had lights installed, new insulation, new sheetrock, and I was exploring different storage options, because that area was probably going to be my office as well. And then… we moved.
We moved into a rental in our current area. We did have a garage, but I only half-heartedly organized the stuff because I knew we were moving. And we did. After three moves, all my tools and hardware were a wreck. Nothing was organized and I couldn’t find anything when I wanted it.
I Didn't Realize How Many Tools, Screws And Stuff I Had
I’m in the middle of four different projects in the house and not having a tool is frustrating and annoying. So.. I took it on.
I didn’t realize just how many tools, screws, and other stuff I had. I organized every single screw into a compartment or container with its matching screws. It took hours.
And in the middle I stopped and worked on another project – because that’s what I do. (I keep trying to buckle down and finish the other three – but I’m not super motivated yet).
Feels So Good to Have it done!
I used the existing containers I had from Ikea hardware purchases and bought more containers from the dollar store.
They were perfect!
The shelves were already installed from the previous owner and had the plastic drawers, which work well for me and keeping the screws organized.
It was so worth it because now I know exactly where everything is!
Curious to see how long it will stay this way…
