We’ve been at home for over a year now, and while some of us are heading back to the office many of us are staying at home.
Working from home has so many advantages
- we can do laundry and make dinner while we are working
- we can stay in our pjs
- Our office can be anywhere – and I mean anywhere
and so many more….
Yet…. there are some downsides too
- we can make dinner and laundry lol
- we can’t escape the mess in our house – we may actually have to clean up our space
- and our constant access to the fridge and freezer.
One of the struggles is the weight gain of being always home and bored, which for some of us can lead to snacking. I dont know about you – but I’m an emotional eater. And a bored eater. And a stress eater. You get the picture
5 tips on how to stay healthy in the workspace
I’ve put together some tips to help you be successful every day. Let me know which one you’ve tried!
- Have a full water bottle and refillable options. I drink 100 oz of water. 64 oz is the minimum water your body needs every day. And when you are drinking – you don’t have time for annoying office drama lol and your body stays more satiated. Not to mention that keeping your body hydrated helps your skin and can lower cravings.
- IF you work from home- don’t work in your kitchen, because that’s where all the food is. If that’s the only space you’ve got, put all the food away so you aren’t mindlessly snacking. Put things in cabinets and behind closed doors, so you aren’t staring at it all day and therefore then begin to snack and snack and snack. And that also works for your desk anywhere – don’t keep random snacks around, they will encourage you to snack.
- Prep your meals. You may think that working from home means that when its lunchtime you will open your fridge, get out a pan and make yourself something so good. You might. For like 2 days and then you may get sick of cooking and clean up. So…. by prepping your meals, you have less clean-up and less mindless eating.
- At some point in your day, get out of your space and get fresh air. It will help your creativity flow. And moving is good for your body too.
- Write down your goals somewhere visible for you to see. That will help remind you what you are working towards. Some people stick post it around the room, change the background on their laptop and phone. You might buy a cup with an inspiring quote to help remind me. Surround yourself with positive vibes will help you help yourself be successful.
