Embrace Opportunites

When Asaf and I were dating, he said he was a realtor. So at 23, I thought that meant he was doing well financially. What did I know lol! While we were engaged, he switched to a different brokerage in the city and also took time to help me get the wedding organized. We got married in 2.5 months!

After we were married, the city wasn’t working out for him and he switched and opened his own brokerage in Brooklyn. We had the money that was coming in from my job and our wedding money.

It took time

It took time for us to build up our company.  There were a couple of months we didn’t know exactly how the rent was going to be paid and we didn’t have anyone financially supporting us. We did this ourselves.

It took years for us to find mentors that we trusted – who would give us good solid advice that would help us succeed.

We got our first car because we entered into a raffle – a split the pot kind of raffle. The winner was called and it wasn’t us. The next day we got a call telling us we won! I thought the person was joking (apparently, there was a kid that won it because they found a spare ticket on the floor. And.. .he came forward and was super honest about it. The organization gave him another prize.)

With that money, we were able to get a lease on a car and know that it was paid for the first year and we believed that we could afford it after. The monthly payment with the insurance was under $250 a month. There were crazy bumps along the way in building up the business too – crazy crazy stories – but that’s for another day..

Leap of Faith

And then 7 years later I took another leap of faith and started my own health coaching practice.

I never imagined… actually I did imagine! I feel like that’s a sentence people say, but the truth is you only truly succeed because at some point you imagine that you will be successful and you become what you imagined.

But I digress – I’m getting off my hypothetical soapbox to myself. I did imagine that we would one day live the life we live, and I also imagined more.

We are raising our daughter in a way that neither of us was raised. And not just because she’s an only child.

We Travel A Lot

We travel a lot, in fact, I’m sitting here on our way to Mexico to stay at an incredible all-inclusive resort, and it’s ok. That wouldn’t have happened 6/7 years ago or even 4 years ago.

When we got married, we loved to travel, and we have family all over. We used to wait for crazy sales or book through points when we traveled. We stayed by family so that we could keep costs down. I would research the best times to book a trip, car rental etc…  We only went during the holidays (Jewish ones) or we would drive down to Florida (we did that a couple of times- not sure I want to do that so fast again).  That was it!

In the past 3 years we have traveled 6-8 times a year! We usually go down to Florida 3 or 4xs a year, Arizona once a year, Vegas – we went twice in one year, and Italy! We were in the process of planning an Israel trip until Covid happened – that one will happen.. eventually.

Believe It, Dream It, Do It!

  • Don’t stop believing in what you can do and where your life can take you!
  • Don’t be scared of the opportunities that you have!
  • Don’t be scared of trying something and it not working out – I’ve had 15 careers and I’m only 33
Just do it!
Just jump for it
Would love to hear in the comments or message me what your goals are!!!
